Centro Infantil San Pablo Board

Lee Daneker has been the board chair of Centro Infantil since October 2009. Prior to that he volunteered at the school as an English teacher and as the coordinator of the English teaching volunteers. He has lived in San Miguel since 2008. Before moving to San Miguel he worked in private business and for the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C. and in Seattle, Washington. He has a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He was formerly a Washington State CPA.
 
The Venerable Michael Long is an Anglican (Episcopal) priest who has served as rector of St. Paul’s Church, San Miguel de Allende, since 1997.

He has also served as archdeacon of the Diocese of Mexico, appointed by the Bishop, for the past ten years. Prior to coming to San Miguel he was rector of St. David’s Church, Aurora, Illinois, for ten years. Michael was a missionary to Brazil for three years, having been appointed by the presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. He served two other churches in Illinois before going to Brazil. He earned a Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in English from Texas A&M University and a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. He was one of the
founders and initial board members of Centro Infantil San Pablo and also serves on the board of Feed the Hungry, a charity providing 4,000 meals daily to needy children in and around San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Patricia Palacios Cortes has been the principal of Centro Infantil since 2008. She has a BA in Business Administration and a BA in Early Childhood

Education. Both degrees are from the University of Guanajuato. Prior to coming to Centro Infantil she was the Administrative Director of Jean Piaget preschool and primary school in San Miguel and also taught courses designed to stimulate the development of cognitive and physical abilities in young children. In addition to being an outstanding educator, she is highly knowledgeable regarding the extensive legal, regulatory, and academic requirements with which Centro Infantil must comply in order to maintain its good standing with the Secretary of Education of the State of Guanajuato.

Bonnie Eriksmoen has been a board member of Centro Infantil since 2003. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church Vestry for six years and Senior Warden for three years. Before moving to San Miguel de Allende in 2001, she and her husband lived and worked in East Africa for twenty years.

Jenny Formanek has volunteered with the English Program at Centro Infantil since its inception and joined the Board in 2010. She has spent her winters in San Miguel since retiring in 2005. Jenny was employed in Hospital Administration for most of her working life but spent the last ten years as Administrator of a non-profit agency working with self-help/mutual aid groups. Her volunteer experiences include membership on various Boards of non-profit houses, community centre and organizations serving the disadvantaged in Toronto, Canada. A graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto, Jenny continues to attend courses through their LIFE (Learning is Forever) program.

Sonja Wright George joined the board of Centro Infantil in 2005. She and her late husband moved to San Miguel de Allende in 1998 from Sewickley, Pennsylvania. After raising three daughters, Mrs. George along with her former father-in-law, E. S. Wright, started a medical device company called Wright Linear Pump, Inc. She was manager of manufacturing, as well as board member and secretary. In 1992 Mrs. George joined D.T. Watson Rehabilitation Hospital, Sewickley, Pa. as coordinator of the Out Patient Lymphedema Program. She started support programs for Lymphedema and post Polio patients, as well as volunteer work for the disabled. Currently retired, Mrs. George works with St. Paul’s Church as head of Flower Guild as well as fund raising for Centro Infantil San Pablo.

Janice Page has been on the board of Centro Infantil since 2008. She has spent her winters in San Miguel for twelve years. Janice serves on the board of San Miguel School of English, the vestry of St. Paul’s Church and her
condo association. Previously Janice was a Spanish and English teacher in New York State. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and English from SUNY Potsdam and a Master’s degree in remedial reading from SUNY Genesco.

Adrian Ross was born and raised in Canada. Adrian has been self-employed as a freelance designer for more than forty years. He has worked as a consultant with art organizations and non profit organizations in Russia, South Africa, Fiji, Brazil, the United States and Canada. He has been involved with Centro Infantil since 2005.
